Why does my head hurt every day

During the different stages of our life, we can develop various alterations in our state of health that, despite not being serious, can cause us a disorder in our routine, since they can be limiting and disabling. In addition, on a large number of occasions there is no treatment that ends these problems in the short term because they are usually of unknown origin, which causes a greater sense of frustration to the person who suffers the discomfort.

A disorder of this type is the headache that occurs every day. Many experts call it chronic daily headache, although other more specific types of headache may be included within this label. It is a problem that, due to the symptoms it produces, the most common is that it is disabling and affects us on a daily basis, so we must try to find the cause to treat it. Is it happening to you right now?

Headache in the temples of migraines

As we have mentioned previously, there are different types of what are called chronic daily headaches. This concept is very broad and includes some types of more specific headaches that are commonly suffered. One of them is migraine. You have probably heard of this alteration and it is very likely that someone from your nearby circle suffers from this alteration on a regular basis, so you will already know how disabling they are.

Symptoms of the aura

One of the main characteristics of migraines that differentiate them from other types of headaches is the aura. It consists of a symptom or several that manifest before the headache develops. They may be:

  • Impaired vision
  • Sickness
  • Vomiting
  • Feeling dizzy

Headache symptoms

Then the headache begins that, although it is located at the beginning at one point, usually progresses affecting both sides of the head. In general, the symptoms are:

  • Pain in one or both sides of the head
  • Throbbing, throbbing or throbbing pain
  • Moderate to severe pain
  • Noise sensitivity
  • Light sensitivity

Therefore, it is advisable to remain at rest in a dark and silent place until it is passed, in addition to trying to take the medication prescribed by the doctor at the time when the aura begins to present.

Head pressure and dizziness from tension headache

Tension headache can also occur, more commonly called tension headache. The number of people suffering from this disorder has grown considerably in recent years due to the causes that cause this headache. The most common causes are:

  • Stress
  • The anxiety
  • The Depression
  • Bad postures at bedtime or at work

The pain usually settles steadily throughout the day as an oppressive band that affects both sides of the head. It is not usually pulsatile or sharp, usually it is less acute, deafer, but it is maintained regularly until it is time to rest.

For your treatment, apart from taking the medication prescribed by the doctor, it is also advisable to treat the cause of origin to stop suffering these discomforts. If you have a lot of stress or anxiety it is advisable to do relaxation sessions or even go to some type of therapy, as in the case of depression. If the problem is muscular, you can go to a physiotherapist.

Other causes of why my head hurts every day

Although we have already explained the two most common types of chronic daily headaches, there are also other causes that explain these headaches:

  • Hormones: in the case of women, due to hormonal variations that occur throughout the menstrual cycle, headaches that remain over time may appear both in ovulation and in the premenstrual period and during menstruation. In fact, it is one of the main symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Headaches may also occur during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester.
  • High blood pressure: if you suffer from high blood pressure you may suffer headaches on a regular basis, especially if you are suffering a period of high blood pressure. It is highly recommended that you go to the doctor to keep the tension under control.
  • Consequences of a respiratory disease: if you have recently had a cold or flu, your sinus ducts may be clogged or inflamed and you are causing daily headaches.

As we have repeated several times, it is best that you go to the specialist so that you can find the cause of the headaches and prevent a major health problem from developing, since it can be a symptom of a serious pathology.
